Blue Voter Guide helps voters plan their ballots for elections at every level in every US state. As of the November 2024 election, the site has seen over 3,000,000 visitors.
I joined Blue Voter Guide in August 2024 (just in time for the election crunch!) and we managed to get a whole lot done in the little time before the November 2024 election.
Things I worked on:
- Redesigned and implemented new Candidate and Endorser Organization pages—critical landing pages that account for over 50% of organic search traffic. Optimized the pages to immediately convert visitors into users building their own ballot guides
- Designed and implemented a new Frequently Asked Questions page to serve users, candidates, endorser organizations, and volunteers
- Reduced size of FontAwesome icon library to improve site performance
- Assisted in preparing site hosting and database for increase in traffic for November 2024 election
- Assisted in strengthening the security of the Blue Voter Guide website in face of cyberattacks
